Survey Results

The results of the survey carried out with all households are now in. Just over 300 questionnairs were sent out and so far 85 have been returned.

The results of the survey are as follows -

Q1. Local Food Production 66 yes 24 no
Q2. FRESCo Pilot Study 79 yes 11 no
Q3. Fintry Community Wood Fuel 77 yes 13 no
Q4. FEET 70 yes 20 no

There were also a number of comments that people added to the questionnaires -

  • ʻGases from wood burning stoves are carcinogenic and the fine ash is deposited over adjacent gardens, cars and houses when used in heating quantities. Not a good idea in this sheltered valleyʼ
  • ʻ I think this is a load of rubbish from start to finishʼ
  • ʻWould like to know what is going to happen to the houses that did not have anything done. Should you not help them out before going onto other things like rural car club to be subsidised. Why canʼt they be subsidised in some way to help them over winter. One of the few people who did not get anything done.ʼ
  • ʻFEET - more detail requiredʼ
  • ʻLocal food - is there a demand? I think you are straying beyond the essential before dealing with the basics.ʼ
  • ʻLocal food - good for the village, Wood fuel - good for the village, have own woodʼ
  • ʻWhat about an emergency generator for when the lights go out?ʼ
  • ʻWould the allotments produce enough fruit and veg to sell to the residents or would they be just for the individuals tending them?ʼ
  • ʻFEET - sounds great but I could not take part as need adapted vehicle for wheelchairʼ.

Many thanks to everyone who returned the forms - much appreciated.
