Transition Stirling (TS) and Fintry Development Trust (FDT) have created, in partnership, an exciting new project: STIRLING’S LOW CARBON FUTURE, funded by the Climate Challenge Fund.

The partnership creates the opportunity to expand the accumulated skills, knowledge and expertise of up-cycling, woodland skills, bespoke energy advice, and more to communities in the Stirling region through delivery of workshops, training and roadshows. The project runs from 1st April 2015 – 31st March 2016.

To deliver our aims of reducing carbon emissions waste and energy use, while enabling communities to aim towards greater self sustainability, we need a dynamic team on board. As such we can offer the following opportunities:

JOB VACANCIES:

PROJECT MANAGER

The position requires an experienced, motivated individual, with excellent project and people management skills to embrace the aims of the project and have key responsibilities for its delivery .

The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership and planning abilities and have direct experience of delivering successful environmental projects. The PM will report directly to a Project management board with members from both TS & FDT.

The PM will be asked to engage in the recruitment of the other team members. Due to the short time before the project start date, this may happen before the PM can start officially, and so the time required to do this will be returned in time off in lieu within the project dates.

The position is for 5 days per week at an annual salary of £30,084.00

ENERGY ADVISOR

The position requires an individual with a full understanding of energy efficiency and renewable energies. Experience with community based organisations and their dynamics is vital. Self motivation and excellent organisational and communication skills are required.

The position offers the opportunity to make significant reductions Co2, energy wastage and fuel poverty through advice and training of others within the Stirlingshire communities.

The Energy Advisor would report to the Project Manager.

The position is for 4 days per week at an annual salary of £20,748.00

WOOD UP-CYCLING ADVISOR

The successful candidate will be experienced in all aspects of wood and carpentry skills with the ability to communicate, teach and advise others. Knowledge of working with salvaged, recycled and green wood would be expected.

A motivated individual with abilities to organise and deliver workshops and roadshows while being fully cognisant of all health and safety requirements would be essential for this post.

The Wood Upcycling Advisor would work closely with the rest of the project team and report directly to the Project Manager.

VOLUNTEER CO ORDINATOR

This position requires an self motivated individual with Volunteer management skills and experience. The successful candidate will work with the other staff members to identify volunteering opportunities and create a programme of support and training for all volunteers within the project.
The successful candidate must possess sound organisational and administration skills to ensure successful delivery of the project.
The Volunteer Co-ordinator will report to and work closely with the Project manager.

The position is for 3 days per week at an annual salary of £ 15,561.00
